Yield Calculation
Wall Type Wall Height Required Thickness Square Feet Per Ton
A 3 Ft. + 24" 9
B 2-3 Ft. 18" 12
C 2 Ft. or Less 12" 18

Example Wall: Wall is 18 feet long, 30 inches high and 18 inches thick (Note: Include in wall height any portion of wall required to be buried below ground.)

Step 1: Determine type of wall that you are building Select wall type row A, B or C from the above chart based on the wall's height. Find the wall's material yield which is calculated as Square Feet per Ton Example Wall is a Type B wall which has a yield of 12 Square Feet per Ton. (Note: Make sure thickness of wall at it's base is as indicated on above chart.)

Step 2: Determine tons of wall stone required to build wall Square Feet of Wall ÷ Square Feet per Ton = Tons of Wall Stone 45 Square Feet ÷ 12 SF per Ton = 3.75 Tons of Stone

Step 3: Calculate square footage of wall (Wall's Face) Length of Wall x Height of Wall = Square Feet of Wall 18 feet long x 2.5 feet high = 45 Square Feet (Note: Make sure wall length and height are both calculated in feet.)
